Feng Shui Directions

07/14/2012 FengShuiTips

Did you know that the facing and sitting directions of your building, its location on the land and the year it was built have an important influence on your life?  In Feng Shui, this combination indicates how the five elements ~ water, wood, fire, earth and metal ~ were contained there during the building’s construction and how they imprinted its history when the roof enclosed the building.  We use a loupan compass (pictured) for exact directions.

Roads, waterways, trees and mountains (whether virtual or real) provide avenues for ch’i to either disperse or stagnate outside a building.  But once inside, energy changes and may present hidden problems for people who spend time there.  This accounts for history repeating itself for the lifetime of the building over many years with different occupants.

Understanding the nature of each of these elements and discovering how to tap into positive energy areas while quieting the bad has been the gift of Feng Shui masters for thousands of years.  Let me know if I can help.

Wishing you good ch’i,
