Feng Shui Patterns and Colors

When a feng shui consultant offers advice to add a fountain, living plant, bright light, pottery or wind chime to your environment, there is a need to adjust one of the five elements – Water, Metal, Wood, Earth or Fire.

However, in some areas of a building it’s not always possible to do so.

Each element is also associated with a color, shape and pattern which can be incorporated into your design details if adding the element is not feasible.  For example, green striped fabric can stand in for Wood energy in a low light area of a building.

Here are a few suggestions:

 

WATER:                Dark blue, black colors – Wavy/fluid/sinuous shapes

WOOD:                 All shades of green – Tall/rectangle/columnar shapes
