 Happy New Year!

Are you ready for the Year of the Horse?  The Year of the Wood Horse (Jia Wu) does not arrive until January 31 this year (when the Lunar New Year begins) but the remaining days of the Water Snake year leading up to the January 30 New Moon provide a perfect opportunity to finish what was started in 2013. Last year, the wise and intuitive Yin Water Snake asked us to shed old skins and calculate what is essential to our well being. By staying close to the land and practicing discretion, the Snake in the Grass taught us the skills necessary for watchful waiting, planning and moderating activities.

But the impetuous and creative Yang Wood Horse known as the Horse in the Clouds will have none of that, so be sure to set the stage to capture her energy and move swiftly and effortlessly into the coming year.  If you have not yet cleared your surroundings at home and work, use this time wisely and begin now.  Clutter and unfinished business will slow your start out of the gate in the Wood Horse year, so sweep the stable and clear the way.

The Year of the Horse will have dramatic  and far reaching implications for business, politics, culture and personal growth and I encourage you to come along for the ride.  I’ll keep you posted on what to expect in the Horse year, but in the meantime, here are 18 tips to help you prepare.  As always, let me know if I can help.
